Meetings are normally held in the Library of St. Mark’s Church, Highcliffe, on the second Friday of each month at 7.30 p.m. The church is about 100 yards off Lymington Road on Hinton Wood Avenue, the turning opposite The Oaks. New Milton & Christchurch

Meetings are normally held on the first Monday of each month (except January and August Bank Holidays) at 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. in the Baptist Church Hall, Havant Road, Cosham. (January) Gill Blanchard

Gill’s talk was about burials, churchyards, and municipal or private cemeteries. These might be at churches, mostly Anglican, but other denominations did sometimes have a burial ground attached. Due to body snatching some private cemeteries were set up with watchmen and later as the churchyards were becoming full local authorities opened large cemeteries. Forthcoming meetings:
