▶ Dig or rotovate to a minimum depth of 100mm, depending on the level of soil compaction, to ensure that existing plants or weeds are cleared from the area.

▶ Start by clearing the area of existing plants either by using glyphosate or the use of a turf cutter. Glyphosate must be applied on a still and dry day when rain isn’t forecast for 24 hours.

▶ Lay out your turf, pressing it down to ensure good root to soil contact.

▶ Rake off any clods, root material and large stones to leave the area level, and to a reasonably fine tilth. Check that the ground is free draining before laying the turf.
