Before 11.00am and after 2.30pm the (volunteer) depot manager and his team are at work organising the stacking of donations, checking use by dates and rotating the items to ensure that packing volunteers select the shorter dated items first. On top of ‘standard’ families we have to take into consideration family circumstances; whilst it is relatively easy to organise a delivery for vegetarian or Halal requests, the real challenge arises when trying to pack sufficient food for those who only have use of a kettle for cooking. As noted from their Facebook page the Walton Foodbank has also been busy: members of the Walton Church are heavily involved there.

Tragically the requirement for the Foodbanks continues to grow. Please help in any way you can. Putting a tin in the supermarket Foodbank collection box is all it takes.
