This can prove family relationships, in my own case DNA proves a link to the family of Radul phus de Pomeraii who came to England from Normandy in 1066 with William the Con queror. Other Pomeroy families exist who may have come from the same village of Pomeraii but are not directly linked and others may have just adopted the name. However, even with the DNA evidence it can be difficult to

find the paper trail. Of course, DNA can prove the opposite and you may not be related to the family you have been researching for years.
