Britons Dying Overseas (BDO) Index Rescanning of the original BDO index cards started in May of this year with the first phase of transcription starting later that month. This first phase, a verbatim transcription of the scanned card content
process will be the analysis and validation of the data transcribed during the first phase described above. Recruitment of data analysists and validators is ongoing and it is anticipated that their work will start during August. The ongoing BDO work is an exciting and major project that will, when complete in 2023/4, be a HGS resource that we believe to be unique in the field of genealogical research. on to XL spreadsheets, is progressing satisfactorily with approximately 4,500 cards transcribed by mid-July. The transcription team involved in this work are located around the world, from Auckland, New Zealand, to Vancouver, Canada, but there is plenty of work available for any new transcribers that would like to join us, irrespective of where you live. The June journal had an article on Charles BRAMBLE. Unfortunately the author made an error in
stating that Thomas Drover married Ruth Etherington. His wife should have been Ruth ETHERIDGE , sorry for any inconvenience.
